West Woodland Elementary to celebrate Walk to School Day tomorrow

Wednesday, Oct. 3 is the International Walk to School Day, and West Woodland Elementary will be participating, as it has since 2003. for the third year in a row. The school encourages students to walk or ride their bikes to school that day, and for the rest of the month of October as part of the school’s “Walk and Wheel” month.

From West Woodland:

Neighbors may notice large groups of students walking to school on Wednesday the 3rd, celebrating with the “West Woodland Wildcat” cheer. One of the largest groups will be the “60th and Sycamore” walking school bus – a group of students and parents who walk to and from school each day, starting at the corner of 60th and Sycamore around 8:35 a.m. We’ll be sure to have a full turnout Wednesday!

Most of the walkers and wheelers meet up at the school between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m. for breadsticks donated by Great Harvest Bakery and fresh fruit donated by Ballard Market.
