Bowen’s hat trick powers Ballard past Redmond in boys lacrosse

Jackson Bowen scored a hat trick as Ballard powered past Redmond 14-1 in boys high school lacrosse action, Friday at Ballard High School in Seattle.

In a game originally scheduled for Redmond High School but moved to Ballard at the last minute due to a scheduling conflict, the Beavers made the home-field advantage count scoring six unanswered goals in the first and added four in the second for a 10-1 lead at the half.

In the second half, Ballard again owned the field scoring two unanswered goals in each of the third and fourth quarters to cruise to the win.

Bowen added three goals and two assists for five points on the night, while Josh Schwartzenberger ahd three goals and Jacob Marks had two goals and an assist.  Darnell Akers also had two goals for the Beavers.

Spencer Mills had the lone goal for Redmond, with Mustangs’ goaltender Liam Watkins recording 16 saves.

Ballard (3-4-1) next faces next faces Nathan Hale (5-1-0) Tuesday, April 2 in a 5:30 p.m. start at the Queen Anne Bowl in Seattle. Redmond (1-5-0) next faces Peninsula-Gig Harbor (4-1-0), Tuesday, April 2 in a 7:30 p.m. start at Liberty High School in Renton.
