We received tips from multiple My Ballard readers that a man was stabbed in the back at NW 54th St and 14th St NW at approximately 4:23 p.m. Sunday, March 31. SPD have confirmed that the incident was an altercation between a couple, resulting in the 50-year-old man being stabbed in the back by his girlfriend.
SPD confirmed that after the couple had an argument, the girlfriend threateningly pulled out a knife and stabbed her boyfriend in the back. According to the SPD, the man received only a minor cut.
When SPD officers arrived a the scene the man was being treated by Seattle Fire Department and was then sent to Swedish Hospital in Ballard for follow up care.
The girlfriend was last seen running down 14th Ave NW away from the scene, however SPD officers have her contact details. According to the SPD, the case will be transferred to the City Attorney.
