Anchors Down says ahoy to Ballard with grand opening party tonight

Anchors Down (2016 NW Market St), which opened softly in April, is holding their grand opening soiree tonight, complete with drink specials, a DJ, and free tattoos. The bar, next to Po Dog, is nautically themed, and serves all the tasty dogs from their next door neighbor.

Tonight’s party from 7 to 11 p.m. will feature DJ Sean Majors, and free tattoos (the real kind, with ink and a buzzing machine), so you can get that anchor tattoo you’ve always wanted.

Anchors Down  is the joint venture of Amy Graeff, manager of Capitol Hill spot Grim’s and Christopher Williams, general manager and co-owner of Capitol Hill sports bar Auto Battery. Po Dog owner Laura Olsen will also be a silent partner in the business venture. The spot used to be a Scandinavian gift shop, but its nautical details and artifacts from the Washington and Oregon coastlines gives it a maritime Northwest feel, with a Ballard twist.
