Early Design Guidance Meeting tonight to discuss studio apartment construction

Tonight, there will be an Early Design Guidance meeting at Ballard High School to discuss an apartment building construction at 1436 NW 62nd St. The project plans are for a 4-story apartment building that would be constructed on a plot where a single-family home currently stands. The apartment building would have 27 units, all approximately between 200-400 sq. ft.

According to Playhouse Design Group, the intent is, “to provide affordable studio apartments in the Ballard neighborhood where rents are currently skyrocketing.”

“The project will encourage alternate means of transportation by providing secured bicycle storage and an option for off-street scooter parking. The intended market will be those who are community- and socially-oriented, both young and old, who choose to live simply and with minimal possessions.”

The meeting is tonight at Ballard High School at 6:30 p.m.
