Theft reported at Crown Hill Center

The My Ballard team received a report from Crown Hill Center director Catherine Weatbrook regarding two thefts that took place at the center last week. Check out more details in Weatbrook’s statement below:

Two wallets were stolen from Crown Hill Center last week: one from outside on the playground, one inside in an office. Both crimes appeared to be the work of the same two people, as they were seen right around the places just before the wallets went missing.

These people appear to be following regular building users onto the grounds. They are a Caucasian man and an African American woman in their twenties. This morning they were sitting on the front steps and it seems that they waited until they could follow someone into the building. They have used the stolen credit cards and cash at businesses across the street. Yes, we are working with the police.

Please if you’ve also had thefts, let us know and call the police. Secure your valuables, remind your students/families not to let anyone in. If you see a couple fitting this description alert me, the office, or police at 911. We’re still missing one black single fold women’s wallet – so if you find one – let us know. With the ARC event and the Arts Festival, we’re going to need to be on alert for these two.

If you have any information about the theft please contact the police at (206) 625-5011, Weatbrook at (206) 372-2033 or call the Crown Hill Center office at (206) 782-2611.
