Seattle City Light reports that an underground cable failure was the cause of the power outage today that affected nearly 9,700 homes and businesses in Ballard, Queen Anne and Magnolia.
The outage started at approximately 1:20 p.m. today and crews were able to isolate the damage and restore power by 2:30 p.m. We received an email from a My Ballard reader who was without power at 42nd and 3rd Ave NW.
Power is now completely restored to the affected areas.
