By Joe Veyera

King County Metro has announced details of upcoming reroutes on State Route 99 and Aurora Avenue North as crews close sections of the roadway for construction work between August 22 and 27.

Routes 120, 125 and the RapidRide C and D lines will be rerouted from 10 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. Between 10 p.m. on Friday and 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, Routes 5 (Local and Express), 16, 26 Express, 28 Express & the RapidRide E Line will be rerouted.

For weekday routes using the Alaskan Way Viaduct, including the RapidRide D line, along with Routes 21 Express, 55, 56, 57, 113, 120, 121, 122, 123, 125 & RapidRide C line, buses will remain on their regular routes, but riders are cautioned to expect delays getting in and out of Downtown Seattle.

Metro riders are encouraged to consider avoiding peak commute times during the closures, to take an earlier morning bus to allow extra travel time in anticipation of the delays, or travel using an alternate bus route to avoid the construction area. Riders are also asked to be aware that most bus tracking programs lose accuracy during construction reroutes, meaning your smartphone app may not be a reliable indicator of when the next bus is due to arrive.
