What’s on this weekend

It’s the final weekend of the month, and there’s plenty happening in Ballard this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Friday, August 29

  • Live Music at Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) at 9:30 p.m. Featuring Southern Culture On the Skids and Johnny 7 and The Black Crabs. Tickets are $18. 21 and over. For more information, click here.
  • Live Music at Conor Byrne Pub (5140 Ballard Ave NW) at 9 p.m. Featuring 1990s cover band Everybody Gets Laid,  Trashcan Wizard, Kevin Hyatt and more. For more information, click here.
  • One Year Anniversary Celebration at Olaf’s (6301 24th Ave NW). Special beers from Georgetown BrewingElysian Brewing and Two Beers Brewing will be on tap, with a raffle with gifts from several local breweries and giveaways for Olaf’s gift certificates good for private parties in the bar’s back room, along with Olaf’s merchandise. Saturday, August 30

  • Weekend Brunch at Hilliard’s Beer (1550 NW 49th St) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Brunch will be provided by The Biscuit Box, with coffee from new Ballard-based pop-up Mmmhmm Coffee. Click here for more details.
  • One Year Anniversary Celebration at Olaf’s (6301 24th Ave NW) beginning at 11 a.m. Featuring a dunk tank, with patrons getting the chance to dunk a bartender with the proceeds going to benefit the Ballard Food Bank. For Saturday afternoon donors, there will be a pig roast and potluck (with attendees asked to bring cash, check or items the food bank needs). For more information, click here.
  • Summer Concerts at the Ballard Locks featuring the Around the Sound Community Band, performing famous marches, along with movie and show tunes. The show starts at 2 p.m. on the Ballard Locks lawn. Click here to see the full summer schedule.
