Popular Ballard store Laura Bee Designs (6418 20th Ave NW) is set to close its doors for good at the end of the month.

Until then, each Saturday, the store will be holding Studio Sales filled with plenty of discounted fabric, vintage buttons, and cool treasures galore.

Tomorrow’s sale will run from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and will feature jewelry displays, vintage display fixtures, ribbon, furniture, fabric, vintage buttons, tables, thread, zippers and more.

After 12 years of retail operation Laura Bee Designs is retiring its bag line and will be transitioning the jewelry line to online and wholesale only.

“After twelve years of retail operations in Ballard and more than 30,000 bags and wallets handmade in our shop, we’re ready for a lifestyle change! The Laura Bee bag line is now retired. Thank you to all of our customers and staff for making LBD such a success,” says Laura Buzard.

Customers with existing bag orders will receive their goods within the next two weeks and those with punch cards are welcome to use their card value before January 31. Click here to check out the specifics related to the closure.

After its closure at the end of the month, the store is sure to be sadly missed by locals in the area.
