What’s on this weekend

There’s a plethora of events in Ballard this weekend, from rummage sales to film screenings and water festivals. Have fun and enjoy the beautiful weather!

Friday, June 12:

  • Summer Rummage Sale at Ballard NW Senior Center (5429 32nd Ave NW) 9 – 4 p.m. “Whatever you are looking for chances are we have it: jewelry, clothes, books, china, toys, knick-knacks, crafts, art, linens, cameras, sporting goods, antiques, kitchen items, small furniture and so much more. All items are priced as marked. Chef Bob will also have his Café Menu of homemade soups, sandwiches, salads, sweets, and pies available from 10:00am-2:00pm.”
  • Old Is Not A Four-Letter Word: A Guidebook For The Journey Through Old book reading by author Susan Towle – Secret Garden Book Shop (2214 NW Market St) 6 – 7:30 p.m.

 Saturday, June 13:

  • Ballard Water Fest – Ballard Homestead (6541 Jones Ave NW) 2 – 5 p.m. Family friendly event with music, water games, and RainWise rain garden information for residents.

  • Street Yoga Fundraiser – Kula Movement (5340 Ballard Ave) 2 p.m. One hour AcroYoga/partner yoga class led by Angela DiMario and Jill Baumgardner. No partner or experience necessary. All proceeds from the class will be donated to Street Yoga, a Seattle-based non-profit that brings trauma-informed yoga classes to organizations that serve youth facing adversity.
  • Free Recycling Event – Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church (2400 NW 85th St) 9 a.m. t0 3 p.m. Recycle clothes, electronics, and metals.
  • Barneleikarringen at the Ballard Locks Botanical Gardens – 2 p.m. Watch a children’s Scandinavian dance performance as part of the Locks summer event series.

Sunday, June 14:

  • Seattle Sounders Supporter’s Shield at the Ballard Library – 1:30 to 3 p.m.  Get up close to the 35 pounds of sterling silver and stainless steel and take a photo with it.
  • Populuxe Sunday Family Fun Day – Populuxe Brewery (826 NW 49th St) at 2 p.m. Luchador Tacos, Balleywood Creamery, and face painting from 2 to 4 p.m. and Tumble Bus on site from 2 – 4 p.m.
  • Plastic Paradise documentary screening – Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church (2400 NW 85th St) 6 p.m. Free entry.
  • Classic Sports Movie screenings at King’s Hardware – This week they’ll be showing A League of Their Own and Lady Bugs on the back patio, starting at sundown.
  • The Mood Swings at the Ballard Locks Botanical Gardens – 2 p.m. The Mood Swings are a Northwest all-female ensemble performing big band jazz.
  • Ballard Farmer’s Market along Ballard Ave from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Click here to see this week’s specials.
