Central Ballard Residents Association to meet Thursday

The Central Ballard Residents Association is holding a meeting tomorrow night (Thursday) and they’ll be discussing an upcoming city council candidates forum. According to the CBRA, Thursday will be an organizational meeting for the candidate forums, happening on September 17 and October 7. They say they still need volunteers for the forum, and they’ll also be discussing the agenda. The CBRA meeting is at 7 p.m. at the Ballard Swedish Hospital cafeteria.

The Seattle City Council candidate forums will be held at the Leif Erikson Hall. The September 17th forum will feature Jon Grant (Position 8), Bill Bradburd (Position 9) and Catherine Wheatbrook (District 6). On October 7, Lorena Gonzalez (Position 9), Tim Burgess (Position 8), and Mike O’Brien (District 6) will be there to answer questions. The forums will be from 7 to 8:30, with each candidate on the podium for half an hour.

“[The] November elections are critical, especially in our area. That’s why we knew it essential to bring the candidates we will be voting on to the public for questions and clarification of platforms,” writes Mike Kahrs, president of the CBRA.
