What’s on this weekend

It could be the last summery weekend of the year, with temperatures in the 80s today and tomorrow and 70s on Sunday. There’s plenty of live music to choose from, and a Harvest Fair festival going on next door in Wallingford.

FRIDAY, September 11

  • Live Music
    • Emporium Presents Whiskey Myers w/ Aaron Crawford, featuring John David Kent at  Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) at 9 p.m. Tickets $12.
    • Sebastian and the Deep Blue Greywaves at Sunset Tavern (5433 Ballard Ave NW) at 9 p.m. Tickets $8.
    • Jazz at Egan’s Ballard Jam House (1707 NW Market St). Hans York at 7p.m. Tickets $10.

SATURDAY, September 12

  • Free yoga in the park: Every Saturday starting July 25th a free yoga class will be held in Ballard Commons Park with instructors from the Ballard Health Club. 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Saturdays through September. Bring a yoga mat! All levels of experience welcome.
  • Harvest Fair 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Meridian Park in Wallingford, hosted by Seattle Tilth.
  • Ballard Art Walk 6 to 9 p.m., various locations around Ballard.
  • Live Music
    • Market Street Singers at Ballard First Lutheran Church (2006 NW 65th St) at 3 p.m. and 7:30  p.m. Last show of the season, and free to all! “Expect to hear a wide blend of styles and choral textures, from classical to pop, from comedy to ragtime, from love ballads to choral classics. We end our summer with music of many moods and a wide expressive palette.”
    • Last Live Music Show of the year at Populuxe Brewing: Country Rock by Sightseer at 2-3 p.m. and good ol’ rock and roll by Nolan Garrett from 4 to 5. Food from Peasant Food Manifesto and Balleywood Ice Cream.
    • Stefan Paul George and The Vices, Amy Viking, and Arthur James, at Conor Byrne Pub (5140 Ballard Ave NW) at 9 p.m. Tickets $8.
    • ROKENROL: Igor & Red Elvises at Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) at 9 p.m. Tickets $15.
    • Jennifer Castle and Andrea Peterman at 6 p.m., and Posse Select Level
      Screens at 9 p.m. Sunset Tavern (5433 Ballard Ave NW)  Tickets $10 and $8.
    • Jazz at Egan’s Ballard Jam House (1707 NW Market St).
      Featuring The Debutones CD Release Show at 7 p.m. Market St. Dixieland Jazz Band at 9 p.m. Tickets $10.

    • Portland Slow Pop: Loch Lomond w/ Edna Vazquez, Whitney Ballen at Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) at 8 p.m. Tickets $10.
