Documentary about Ballard tweens to screen at upcoming festival

A Ballard parent’s documentary about local tweens will be featured at the upcoming Northwest Film Forum. Before, produced by Loyal Heights Elementary parent Terence Brown, delves into the challenges that students face during the transition between elementary and middle school.

Before will be making its theatrical debut on September 26 as part of the Northwest Film Forum’s Local Sightings festival. Here is a preview:

Brown interviewed about 60 5th graders from Loyal Heights Elementary’s 2014 class to gain their insights and perspectives on this particular time in their lives. Before, “explores that penultimate ‘tween year though the lens of one 5th grade class on the last day of elementary school,” according to the website.
