One of the most important events of the year for the of Seattle-Bergen Sister City Association, the annual Grieg Gala, will be held this Sunday, June 12, at Ballard First Lutheran Church (2006 NW 65th St).
The music of Edvard Grieg, who is considered to be one of Norway’s greatest composers, will be showcased by sopranos Mimmi Fulmer and Laura Loge, pianists Aaron Otheim and Steven Damouni and violinist Allion Salvador.
The event will also celebrate the “Flora Metamorphicae” gift of ceramic flowers that was received from the artists and the City of Bergen. Those who missed their chance to see the exhibit at the Nordic Heritage Museum will be able to view some of the flowers on display at the reception following the concert.
The best local Norwegian bakers will also have special cakes and cookies on hand for attendees to enjoy.
