The Ballard Locks is the place to be this weekend in Ballard, with the Fisheries Day event on Saturday and Classic Car Show on Sunday. Over in Fremont, it’s the annual Solstice parade on Saturday. If you want to add your event to the schedule, email us at tips@myballard.com.

Friday, June 16

    • Emporium Presents: A Tribute to Johnny Cash: Cash’d Out and Dear Lemon Trees at Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) from 7pm, $25.
    • Bruce Phares and Tim Lerch (7pm, cover TBD) and Market St. Dixieland Jazz Band (9pm, cover $10) at Egan’s Ballard Jam House (1707 NW Market St)

Saturday, June 17

  • Fremont Solstice Parade The annual parade kicks off at 1 p.m. in Fremont (often preceded by a warm-up ride of naked bicyclists down into Ballard and back) followed by a celebration at Gasworks until 9 p.m.
  • Greyhound Meet and Greet at All the Best Pet Care (1909 NW Market St.) Saturday, June 17, from 11am-1pm. Join us to meet retired racing greyhounds, learn about adoption, volunteer opportunities and more. Click here for more information.
  • Fisheries Day at Ballard Locks, 11am to 3:30pm. Plenty of kids activities and environmental education about salmon and the Locks.
  • Cascadia Big Band at Ballard Locks, 2pm. Free to the public, with seating on a first-come basis.

    • The Deslondes w/ Twain at The Sunset at Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) from 9pm, $15.
    • Tayla Lynn, Lo Liner at Conor Byrne Pub (5140 Ballard Ave NW) from 9pm, $8.

Sunday, June 18 – Father’s Day

  • Ballard Farmer’s Market along Ballard Ave from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Click here to see this week’s specials.
  • Classic Car Show at Ballard Locks, 10am to 3pm. Cars of the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. Free and open to the public.
  • Grieg Gala Jubilee Extravaganza, Ballard First Lutheran Church (2006 NW 65th St), 3-5 pm, free.
  • Live Music
    • This Charming Band w/ Love Vigilantes & She’s Lost Control
      at Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) from 9pm, $15.
    • Open mic at Conor Byrne Pub (5140 Ballard Ave NW) sign-up at 7:30 pm.
