What’s on this weekend

Summer is in full swing, and so are the outdoor events: this weekend is the annual SeafoodFest, starting tonight in the heart of downtown Ballard. Also on the agenda is the Ballard Locks Centennial Boat Parade, with about 50 historic boats passing through the Locks on Sunday morning.

Here’s the full weekend line-up:

Friday, July 7:

  • SeafoodFest, 5-10pm. Beer gardens, food trucks, and live music to kick off the three-day event. Music starts with a DJ at 6pm, #All4Doras at 7pm, and Nite Wave at 7:45pm.
  • Live Music:
    • Jazz at Egan’s Ballard Jam House (1707 NW Market St). Chris Johansen Quartet at 7pm. $12.
    • Jason Groce & The Joy Tyrants album release party, David Bavas,and Mike Giacolino atat Conor Byrne Pub (5140 Ballard Ave NW) at 9pm $8

Saturday, July 8:

  • SeafoodFest, 11am to 10pm. Live music, salmon barbecues, Festi-bowl skateboarding event at Ballard Commons, and more. Full info, click here.
  • Blood drive at Ballard First Lutheran, (2006 NW 65th St) 9am to 3pm.
  • Golden Gardens Forest Restoration, 9am to noon. Tools, gloves, and training are provided. Meet at restroom near parking lot for dog park. For info email Doug at doug@greshamenvironmental.com or call at (206) 794-4520.
  • Live Music:
    • Jazz at Egan’s Ballard Jam House (1707 NW Market St). Market Street Dixieland Jazz Band, 7pm, $10 cover. Chris Morton Trio at 9pm, $8.
    • Aaron Crawford w/ Malie Mae & Scout at Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) at 8pm. $12

Sunday, July 9:

  • Ballard Farmer’s Market along Ballard Ave from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Click here to see this week’s specials.
  • Ballard Locks Centennial Boat Parade, 10am at the Ballard Locks. The schooner Adventuress will lead the way, with 50 boats parading to Lake Union.
  • SeafoodFest, 11am to 10pm. Live music, salmon barbecues, a lutefisk eating contest at 3pm, and more.
