Golden Gardens dog park to close three days this week

The off-leash dog park at Golden Gardens will be shut for tree maintenance this week.

Seattle Parks and Recreation will close the park  from 7am to 3:30pm on Tuesday, Oct. 2 through Thursday, Oct. 4. The parks department says the work is to enhance safety in the park.

Alternative off-leash areas to visit during the closure can be found here.

    1. It does reek but it is easily avoided so I see no reason to close it and it is better than dog owners leaving their dog’s crap in my yard or at bus stops.

      1. Your yard is our toilet! No, it’s seriously frustrating to pick up your own pet’s waste and see someone else who thinks they’re too good to clean up after their pet. It’s embarrassing and totally not cool.

  1. Seattle is one giant off-leash area. Pretty sure this won’t “inconvenience” the narcissistic, inconsiderate Seattle Dog Parents one bit. Woof!

  2. Nothing says “progressive” like walking around carrying a bag of sh*t and making your neighbors put up with your yap dog in the grocery store.

          1. You must be a Pit Mommy with these low-IQ takes and weak insults.
            How many tats?

          2. No, I can’t spare $5 for your “gas” or a tax increase for your fatherless kids’ daycare.

  3. I don’t interact with people anymore, especially toxic males – just me and the dog babies.

  4. Please do not panic, Dog Parents! I’ve declared a State of Emergency in the City of Seattle to deal with this crisis, and mental health professionals are at the ready if you or your dog babies are suffering any anxiety or trauma related this temporary dog park closure.

    We’re all in this together!

    1. Mayor Durkan, if you provided more mental health services to the humans who needed them, maybe we’d be on the correct path to getting people off the streets. Maybe if we worried less about bike lanes and more about barracks-style housing, we’d have fewer people on the streets. Maybe this, maybe that, maybe so, maybe no.

      1. Nope. Can’t do it. If we put the hobos in barracks the libtards will scream “nazis!”.
It’s free range hobo only in Seattle, as YOU CANNOT FORCE ANYONE TO ACCEPT SERVICES. I don’t know why you liberals cannot understand this. I myself would be ok with them all being rounded up, humanely, and given treatment beds food meds etc but kept off the streets. You guys oppose this as “fascism”.
This is why no amount of money will solve this crisis, which works out perfectly for a city that loves murky spending and ratcheting up taxes for endless programs, studies, and consultants. There is “literally” no possible solution to this mess with the current legal obstacles and insane social justice idiots on the City Council.

Enjoy the shrieking junkies and the crime, idiots.
