Ballard photographer recreating familiar cityscapes

A Ballard artist and photographer has been gaining popularity in Seattle, playing on city landmarks with his photography. Rudy Willingham has been combining his interest in collage art and photography to create the images, which include a rendition of the Space Needle-turned-UFO, and Seattle Sonics’ Shawn Kemp dunking the old Seattle P-I globe (we like to think that last one is paying homage to Ballard).

  1. Those are really cool! I bet they’d look even cooler without the guy’s fingers in the picture. The Fresh Branzino has spoken!

  2. Awesome. Somebody should invent some kind of fancy photo software where you could cut and paste like that. I bet it would be a big hit!
