Leaf clean-up in Old Ballard this weekend

On Saturday morning, a group of Ballardites will be out cleaning up leaves in Old Ballard.

Organized by Ballard Alliance, the clean-up crew will meet at the Centennial Bell Tower at 8am on Nov. 3. They’ll have free coffee and donuts for volunteers and will head out in teams to clean up leaves along the Ballard sidewalks. They say they plan to be out cleaning until noon.

Thanks for the leaf cleanup, but how about GETTING RID OF THE VIOLENT JUNKIES?

“In an email addressed to Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, the police and fire chiefs, several city council members and a senior executive of Weyerhaeuser expressed the safety concerns for her employees.

Senior Vice President and Chief Administration Officer Denise Merle wrote her biggest concern when Weyerhaeuser relocated his headquarters in 2016 from Federal Way to Pioneer Square was the additional commute for many of her employees, now she says it’s their safety.

“Since the move, Pioneer Square has experienced escalating violence,” wrote Merle.

“Our employees have been spit in the face, urinated on, aggressively yelled at, chased by people wielding tent poles, punched in the face…” she wrote. “Our employees have to walk over needles, human waste and garbage. Often they have to walk in the street because the tents on the sidewalks block their access.”

    1. Still not talking about your guy who’s on his way to prison?

My Ballard doesn’t mind daily posts riling up vigilantes. Calling for shooting people for graffiti is apparently an acceptable thing to post here. You guys egg each other on to harass and attack who in your minds are the “junkies”, the “criminals”. You can tell which ones are criminals by how they look, right? In the Facebook neighborhood groups, and at nextdoor, it’s the same. Inciting violence is all in good fun.

John Thomas Davis facing prison for murder now. He killed a “homeless” person — what he perceived to be a homeless person. Who knows? In the eyes of the law, your frustration with crime is not an excuse for homicide. They prosecute killers, even white middle class homewoners who crave “law and order”.
      .
Did you know John? Run into him online? You guys ever talk about consequences for your online rants and ravings? Consequences are here

      1. I think that if and when the media does their job and dig deeper, we’re going to find out this was not a vigilante attack. There is to much in the story that doesn’t add up or make sense.

        1. Denial denial denial denial

Go post some more about holding crooks and vandals accountable for their actions, then come back here and deny your own accountability.

          1. WTF are you even talking about? Big companies are speaking up about daily dangers to their employees. You picked the side of junkies. Nice investment. Junkie hobos get shot or stabbed (by OTHER JUNKIE HOBOS) in Seattle every other day. Nobody is defending that vigilante, so please stop with the projection/obfuscation social justice tactics. Citizens are attacked and robbed daily by our “vulnerable community members” so stop pearl clutching over this NON NATIVE hobo loser’s choice to antagonize a citizen, who yes should and will be punished for his actions.

Do you cucks have loved ones? Why do you allow criminals to prowl around your neighborhoods, near your wives and kids? Wifey must be real proud that you guys spend what little assertiveness floats around in your soyboy system defending junkies online. LOSERS

You guys gonna hold a candlelight vigil for this junkie burglar? Try listening to a little less Pearl Jam and start caring about your neighbors, Cucks.

          2. “pearl clutching over this non native”? The murder victim had a Latino name, and you think his life isn’t worth as much? You Nazis. Pathetic.

A second degree murder charge isn’t “pearl clutching”. Sending the killer to prison isn’t a “candlelight vigil”. The slammer isn’t some symbolic gesture. A prison door about to slam shut on one of you Walter Mitty wannabe heroes. Consequences.

Yeah, listen to you, big daddy macho man. Gonna stand up for your womenfolk. All you do with your life is whine, moan, and complain day in and day out. Guys who do nothing but complain are called “little bitches”. Not very masculine.

If you want to be taken for a man, learn this: a man faces up to consequences. Doesn’t try to weasel out of responsibility for anything. A man holds himself to account for the consequences of all his actions.

        2. Even your sensationalist MyNorthwest doesn’t paint a pretty picture of Davis. This man is now the mascot of your little “Safe Seattle” group. Delusional idiots who think the world is out to get them and will stop at nothing to make their point.

    1. We need more needles in the streets. Hey King County Health, hey Shilo, step it up. Not enough people are being poked with disease ridden bum syringes.

  2. Beyond stupid. Clean up your own damned leaves. Why are businesses so unwilling to do this? Seems they all want a free ride to wealth and that’s why they fail at such a fast rate.
