Lucky Santo opens today in Sunset Hill

The chefs behind Stoneburner are opening their newest venture today: Lucky Santo opens its doors at 11am this morning at 3127 NW 85th St.

The new restaurant has moved into the space once occupied by Cocina Esperanza, which sold after a fire caused heavy damage in 2017.

Seattle chef Nikki DeGidio is co-owner and general manager of Lucky Santo, which is named for her two childhood dogs, Lucky and Santo. She’s partnered with Stoneburner chef Jason Stoneburner and Big Gin owners Holly Robinson and Ben Capdevielle.

The creators have completely transformed the space, which now feels much like a bright, open cafe and wine bar. The restaurant will be counter-service only, with seating for 45, plus a back patio which will open come spring.

The menu will cater to food sensitivities, which is in part due to DeGidio’s own severe food allergies. Menu options will be mostly allergen-free: no dairy, grains, legumes, refined sugar, soy and canola oil (unless otherwise noted). They’ll have an array of smoothies (named primarily by color — The Green One, The Orange One, The Purple One, and so on) healthy and light lunch options (action-packed superfood salads, lettuce wraps with avocado and turmeric dipping sauce, papaya salad with kelp noodles), and grab-and-go meals that can be heated up at home to feed an entire family.

“Whether you are paleo, vegetarian, vegan, a regular ol’ meat eater, or totally clueless about nutrition, the one thing everyone agrees on is more real food and less junk,” DeGidio said.

Lucky Santo’s hours will be 11am to 8pm, Monday through Friday, and 8am to 8pm on weekends.

  1. Looks like a nice new option. My hope is DeGidio has control over most operating decisions, so that it’s nothing like Stoneburner, which has borderline offensive service, and overpriced mediocre food.

      1. Please, do tell how my commenting on the article is trolling. If you’re going for the angle of my Stoneburner comment, please read the article. It says she’s partnering with a chef from there, and thus is 100% relevant to the article.
You appear to be highly triggered by my calling out of you and Uncle Buck (moreso the latter) being trolls for bringing up homelessness and mental illness/addiction (with much worse terminology) on nearly every article on this site, when they are irrelevant to the conversation. If you need a shoulder to cry on, I’m sure lil bucky will be here soon to defend your honor.

          1. Great. A new, interesting restaurant opens up and what’s the first thing on here? Both of your fecal matter smeared all over the comments. You’re both ridiculous.

          2. Thanks? Take note, I posted a legitimate comment solely based on the article until the snowflake incorrectly called me a troll.

          3. I 100% was staying on topic. I was asking why you’re calling me a troll. Why did you call me a troll?

  2. Welcome Lucky Santo. We have been driving by, impressed with all the activity we could see through those beautiful ample windows. Looks light and inviting.

      1. Weird…I didn’t even see lil bucky on this thread. I know you can’t be referring to me, since I started the comment thread by stating this looks like a nice new option. I’m hoping trolls like elenchos2 and Uncle Buck will soon be a thing of the past.
