70-unit apartment building going in at 11th and 54th

A new 70-unit apartment building is in the works for the corner parcel at NW 54th and 11th Ave NW.

According to a report in the Seattle DJC, it sold in January for over $1.7 million to an LLC related to Kamiak Real Estate.

The lot (1100 NW 54th St) is just across the intersection from Gilman Playground, and is the only parcel of land on the 1100 block of 54th that isn’t (yet) a multi-story apartment building.

According to an old Yelp listing, the building is the former location of Poster Porters, and had been listed for lease since June last year.

  1. Hopefully this will accomplish two things: Get rid of the transient house/vehicle parking yard next door, and chase the camping hobos out of Gilman Park across the street.

      1. Is there a Constitutional right to camp in a City park?
        State or federal constitution?
Which section or amendment establishes that right?

          1. Tell me: which parts of the constitution should we keep? You guys seem to hate both the 1st and 2nd Amendments while also using corny schoolyard insults.

  2. The statement “is the only parcel of land on the 1100 block of 54th that isn’t (yet) a multi-story apartment building” is wildly innacurate. The majority of the buildings on that block are businesses: a plastics factory, McDonalds, Firestone and so on. There are 2 or 3 apartment buildings only. A nasty place to live and a horrible area for parking.

  3. Good! This city isn’t going to lose people anytime soon. I think it’s great that affordable housing is being built.

Population density is what we need

    1. Yes more people on subways that don’t exist. Density is just code for more tax money to pay bureaucrats. How many dog babies can we cram into KC?

      1. The paranoia is strong with you. I got mine so screw everyone else amirite? Fortunately there’s a lot of local options for you to take care of your mental illness. Might start by calling 206-427-9710. Best of luck.

        1. Pretty tired. You have no argument with what is obvious in Seattle 2019 to anyone with a functioning brain, so you go immediately to insults. This kind of thing doesn’t work in business, by the way.
