Ballard boys basketball training starts soon

Spring basketball training is coming up for boys at the Boys & Girls Club.

The Training League, which runs March 23 to June 8, is for boys in grades 4 through 7. The program is designed to help develop basketball skills without having to schedule practices and games, Sara Wetstone from the club tells My Ballard. “Great for multi-sport athletes or players who want some extra touches.”

The coaches will be Adri Davis, who has coached the program for three years and who played for BHS and currently plays point guard at Pacific Lutheran University. Lucas Waters, who has coached for two years, is a current BHS basketball player.

The league will consist of two parts: a training hour and scrimmage hour.

During the training hour, players will learn ball handling efficiency and touch, shooting form and repetitions working on range and speed of release, and one-on-one moves and defense.

For the scrimmage hour, players will be divided into teams of five, and each player will be subbed out equally every four to five minutes. “Coaches will emphasize how to work hard and efficiently, how to make good decisions on offense and defense, and how to be a good teammate.”

  1. When their season is over in high school, they can play for a group. Great for the more elevated amount players since it gets them introduction. I would state it is great from the viewpoint that the vast majority of the mentors work superbly and they are lecturing a similar message to the kids. http://www.essayempire.co.uk
