Old Smokin’ Pete’s BBQ location finally comes down

The former Smokin’ Pete’s BBQ in Ballard has been sitting empty for several months, until this week, when crews demolished the building at 1918 NW 65th St.

The restaurant, which opened 15 years ago in Ballard, switched to a catering-only and take-out model and moved up to Shoreline last fall, where they now operate at 15009 Aurora Ave N.

According to the city’s records, the parcel of land will be turned into a four-unit townhouse-style building with three live/work dwelling units.

Thanks Sara, for posting the above photo in the My Ballard Group!

  1. When they closed to the public as a restaurant I was kinda sad to see that the space not being utilized as a restaurant in my hood. Since it’s been a catering facility I only feel sad that another part of Ballard history is gone and will be replaced by a new, non-descript building.

    1. The kitchen was used for food truck food prep. Now those independent businesses need to find another kitchen to use for their prep work.

    2. Hey remember the parks? Those were great. Do you miss how they were used by citizens instead of campsites for lowlife junkie thieves?

      1. Hey, remember the community website with news stories from around the neighborhood? It was great. Do you miss how it was used by citizens instead of a digital toilet for lowlife mentally disturbed trolls?

          1. Dude, you really need to grow up and move out to the deep woods where you wont be triggered.
