This week, Peddler Brewing will host a concert put on by Whitman Middle School students to raise money for the school’s music program.
The fundraiser will be this Thursday, May 9th in Peddler’s beer garden, and will feature Whitman’s bands, orchestras, jazz bands and drumline. Cycle Dogs food truck will be on site, and $1 from each beer will go to the Whitman music program.
“Join us for an evening of great music and cheer!” the event info reads. “Plus, contribute to a buy-in for instruments the program needs!”
The fundraiser will run from 5pm to 8pm, with the music starting at 6pm.
I’m not sure it’s appropriate for a booze company to host a children’s event. You can’t even visit their website if you aren’t 21 (or older).
booze company?
Beer has alcohol in it.
Car washes and candy sales won’t take in as much money in a month as a single night at a brewery/bar. Since kids aren’t allowed to do door-to-door sales any more the best way to reach donors outside of the students immediate family is to put on an event geared towards the greater community.
Puritanical thinking means fewer resources for music, arts, and alternative sports programs.
What if Deja Vu in downtown offered to do the same event?
False equivalencies aside, they would not raise as much money.
You are a ridiculous person.
Is it a ridiculous argument to try to put up a bit of a barrier between children and alcohol?
yes
With attitudes like that it’s no surprise this city has a massive drug problem.
Elenchos2, sweetie, there is nothing sexy about stupid.
We have a nationwide heroin epidemic because useful idiots like yourself equate it with families enjoying themselves at a brewery.
If Deja Vu did the same event, they’d be doing more for the community than you and your weak internet trolling.
The quality of your concern trolling has really gone down hill. I would say don’t quit your day job, unless it is concern trolling; then please do quit your day job!
