Neighborhood ‘play date’ with D6 candidates coming up

Coming up on Monday, July 8th will be another chance to meet candidates running to represent District 6 in Seattle City Council.

The event, organized by Salmon Bay Park Stewards, is being called a “play date” with candidates. It will be held at Salmon Bay Park, and is meant to be an informal opportunity to connect and have conversations with those running.

The following candidates have confirmed that they’ll be there: Jay Fathi, Sergio Garcia, Melissa Hall, Jon Lisbin, Kate Martin, Joey Massa, John Peeples, Ed Pottharst, Terry Rice, Dan Strauss, and Heidi Wills.

The intent is, “to provide access and availability for busy parents who might like to connect with campaigns and candidates but may have challenges attending panel discussions with childcare, evening hours, etc.”

Everyone is welcome, and it’s meant to be casual — “come as you are,” they say. The candidates will be there between 4pm and 7pm — “BYO picnic (+kids) optional”.

  1. The people’s republic of Ballard: AKA, zero conservatives. Yet everybody is conservative when they take out THEIR checkbooks. My vote hasn’t counted now for years. Why bother around here? And the results are so awesome too. I watched a guy shoot heroin right in front of DIck’s yesterday. Great stuff. Parents: explain THAT to your kids for me.

Good question, people ask you quite often why you still live in Seattle, despite you clearly being miserable. Your answer typically consists of something, something, those darn liberals!

Oh honey child, are you going to be ok?

Well kids, for decades, we as a country have been allowing opioid companies to persuade doctors to over-prescribe opioids to patients that probably don’t need them in the first place resulting in our current glut of opioid addicts. We then, again as a country, choose to not treat their addictions, which every other country does, and instead choose to scorn and vilify them, resulting in desperate addicts shooting up in front of a hamburger joint!

    2. Via a quick Google search here are the 10 most conservative places in Washington for 2019. Perhaps you would be a happier person if you were living in one of these lovely places.
