Last few days to weigh in on the future of the Ballard Bridge

There are just four days left to tell the city how you use the Ballard Bridge and give your input on the future of the 102-year-old bridge.

The Ballard Bridge Planning Study Survey was created by the Seattle Department of Transportation to evaluate long-term improvements to bring the bridge up to current transportation, function, and structural standards. The survey will close on Sunday, July 7th.

Next, SDOT will host drop-in sessions to share the results, and confirm they have an accurate picture of community needs and values based on responses. They’ll also introduce general concepts they plan to explore in the planning study.

  1. Having 1 party run the entire snow here really sucks. Very few differing opinions or ideas in this group thinking region. Meaning; we won’t get what is needed, rather what some feel is adequate. By the time the thing is built it’ll be outdated too. I have years of watching/learning to know

    1. Curious what the GOP would do different. You don’t seem to want to explain, rather your post is full of griping and hand-wringing.

    2. Having lived in other states, controlled by the GOP (and other parties that don’t control Seattle) I can’t say anything in this country runs that well and it’s all focused around building things for cars – which ironically makes all modes including cars not operate very well. Take for instance a prime example of GOP operations and politics: Mississippi! That state can’t build it’s way out of a wet paper bag, so not like GOP leadership would do squat. The last time GOP leadership ran Seattle they turned the city into a big gridlocked mess and ripped up all the options so everybody had to drive.

      Pure, unparalleled genius [sarcasm].

Mind you, that was back when the Democrats basically went right along with em’ until the population actually revolted to new interstate construction!

Happy to hear alternative idea tho instead of hand wringing.

  2. Build a tunnel……yaaaaaaaaaaaah ! ….Or weld it tight for a light Rail ….. that’s the ticket …..Or fence off Ballard to the new outsiders tech,s and tweakers it’s really out of hand now and the summer bums have landed !
