Seattle Night Out is two weeks away

For one night in early August, the streets of Seattle will be taken over by neighborhood block parties.

Seattle Night Out is Tuesday, August 6th, and is an annual event promoted by Seattle Police and aimed at strengthening neighborhoods and supporting anti-crime efforts.

To close off your street for Night Out, you’ll first have to register your event online. Then, add your event to the city map to let your neighbors know what’s happening. (View the citywide map here.)

After you’ve registered and added your party to the map, there are materials such as invites, street closure signs, and Night Out logos you can download and use for your block party.

Registration is open until 5pm on Monday, August 5th.

  1. I remember back in the day when people were responsible enough to just have bath tubs inside their home, instead of obstructing pedestrian (and wheelchairs) for the precious little ones.

  2. This sounds like a positive thing for our neighborhoods! Too many people sitting inside on their computers complaining about others; better to get out and actually meet one another. Like humans.
