It’s one of the busiest weekends of the summer, with Seafair happening from today through Sunday on Lake Washington and Magnolia Summerfest happening just south of Ballard.
The main Seafair events are happening at Genesee Park this weekend with the Blue Angels air show, hydroplane racing, wakeboarding, BMX stunt bikes, and the inaugural Seafair Classic Car Show.
A little closer to Ballard will be the Magnolia Summerfest, happening today through Sunday at the Magnolia Playfield. The Summerfest will include live music all weekend, a pet fashion and costume contest, a big parade on Saturday morning, a craft fair, food trucks, a beer and wine garden, and an outdoor movie showing tonight (Friday).
Traffic around the city will be something of challenge, but at least I-90 will remain open during the Blue Angels performance. The festival organizers changed the flight path this year in order to keep the busy freeway open.
