    1. Wow, thanks for being a zombie-headed, hijacked Seattleite. What happened to voting for the best candidate for the job, without bringing identity or gender politics into it?
See, if you’d just said “Willis is the best person for the job” I would have left you alone, you basement dwelling troll.

      1. If you think we can have any election without bringing in identity you are very naive. This is just code for “let’s only elect white men”.

      1. Heidi is also supported by “Moms for Seattle”, a PAC that at its surface appears to be a handful of older, retired women married to extremely wealthy businessmen, some of the women who don’t even live in Seattle, who were caught sending photoshopped mailers to try to make Seattle seem like a dystopian nightmare that only “mom’s” have the ability to solve. Concerning enough if you were to stop there.

When you dig deeper, the PAC is actually run by Strategies 360, through a couple shell companies. Strategies 360 is also known for being the lobby for the oil and gas industry in Washington.

Curious how Heidi is going to explain that one.

        1. Referring to a female council candidate as “strippergate” is hugely offensive. Also saying that “older, retired women” shouldn’t have a say in politics is ageist and sexist.

It is very common for outside influences to affect our election, it would be wrong to single out a particular candidate. I certainly don’t hold it against Sawant that all her money and volunteers come from outside the city.

          1. Before you get offended maybe you should get informed. Strippergate is the name of the scandal that Wills was involved in–when she accepted money from an organized crime-connected strip club owner in exchange for a favorable vote on a zoning issue. She takes bribes. She’s not fit for office. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strippergate_(Seattle)

          2. I think that is a bit of rewriting history, I think we all know why this term applies to her (and her only).

          3. Yes, because she’s the only candidate in the race who as a former council member took a bribe related to a strip club. SMH

          4. Strip, strip, strippergate! Say it 3 times fast and Willis appears in your house, offering you a table dance for a campaign donation.

        2. She doesn’t have to defend it…it’s an independent PAC and if we’re going to accuse politicians based on their supporters, well, that’s a slippery slope, isn’t it? Maybe one of your precious far-left candidates is supported by Antifa. Is that candidate responsible for their violence?

          1. I agree with Pork Pie that getting the support of an independent PAC isn’t the fault of the candidate but when I see a PAC that has vastly different values than I do supporting a candidate I do feel the need to do more research on that candidate and where they stand on issues that are important to me. The PAC has more time to dedicate to vetting than I do so it’s simply an indication that I need to look deeper into the situation.

That said, Willis still was involved in the 2003 strippergate scandal. I can’t say she didn’t learn from it; I can say I’m not willing to get behind someone who I can’t trust. She has a few months to show us who she is now and convince us that she is the best person for the job.

  1. I’m voting for Dan. I’ve listened carefully to all the candidates share their ideas. Dan has both well thought out plans and a heart. He listens when people speak. I’m generally inclined to look for candidates who aren’t white men, but in this case I believe that Dan represents my values far better than Heidi Wills.

  2. I think Dan will do a great job completing Mike O’Brien’s mission to have a drug addict on every sidewalk. So compassionate! And the mobile safe injection site is a great way to keep heroin addicts, addicted! And his plan for housing in 4-5 years really addresses the “crisis” we have now. Compassionate towards heroin addicts and enabling them to kill themselves and public safety so they can do what they want. So compassionate!

  3. I wonder whether a MOB endorsement would benefit his chosen candidate or ensure the opponent’s election! He’s probably wondering the same thing…

    1. I actually think Mike is kicking himself all the way to The Jungle for not running. All the other incumbents came out leading their races. Would he really have been that unpopular to come in at sub-Sawant vote counts? I think he would have beat Heidi to #2 at least. Haha Mike! Suck it.
