Kitchen Istanbul now open on Market St

A new Turkish restaurant has opened in the former Tropicos Breeze location at 1744 NW Market St.

Owner Levent Sahin (also of Ada’s Restaurant in Phinney Ridge) is at the helm of Kitchen Istanbul, which opened on Saturday.

A look at the rather large menu shows they have a good range of options: soups and salads, cold and hot appetizers (dolmas, hummus, babaganoush, etc), beef and lamb kebabs, seafood dishes (salmon, trout, sea bass, and shrimp options), casseroles, and several vegetarian entrees.

Sahin, who is from Turkey, has a history of restaurant ownership: prior to moving to Seattle, he lived in San Francisco, where he ran two restaurants for four years.

Tropicos Breeze closed in March after two years operating on Market St. Prior to that, the space was home to Golden Beetle and Young American Ale House.

Thanks Deborah for posting about the opening in the My Ballard Group!
