There’s a pod of orcas headed towards Ballard — you might still have time to catch sight of them.
At around midday, members of the Orca Network on Facebook reported that the pod was traveling from Alki towards Discovery Park. Kersti Elisabeth Muul captured the above photo just off Alki where she said they were making a kill.
The admins of the Orca Network group say the whales are confirmed to be transients, rather than the southern resident orcas that often travel through the Puget Sound area.
