A 5-story apartment building is in the works for 4316 Fremont Ave N, which sold last summer for $4.6 million.

  1. My best guess is hell will freeze over before just 1 of these new buildings mandates new tenants MUST sign said an agreement in where “zero autos are owned”. As in walking the walk, talking the talk stuff. Now, would this NOT be progressive? Why hasn’t the city council taken this up yet? Kind of obvious isn’t it? Or, are there um, other plans for everybody here? Congestion may be a tactic here. One used against us eventually.

    1. Why do you care if the people who choose to live in this apartment have cars? Sounds like it would be their problem if their garage ends up full, not yours.

      1. When the streets surrounding these kind of buildings are clogged and virtually in accessible, it’s everybody’s problem.

    2. If the city were to mandate parking requirements then start with requiring everyone who owns a vehicle to store it on private property. I see so many houses with garages that store stuff rather than the homeowner’s vehicle.

  2. Architectural designs for the project aren’t abysmal, shockingly. Brick mason facade and courtyard accessible to public through open commercial space at ground level. Nice to see Fremont is holding developers to some standards. Did anyone go to the proposal review on Monday night in Ballard?

  3. 87 units with parking for only 32 vehicles? This is absurd!! No other major city In the United States lets developers get away with this kind of nonsense. Shame on our planning department.
