Monster: Art, Clothing & Gifts will reopen in its new shop on NW Market St. this weekend.
The store is having a reopening event — the “We Moved a Little Bit” party — on Sunday, Feb. 2 from 1pm-6pm. The party will include an art show titled “For the Love of Ballard,” featuring pieces by Ryan Henry Ward – henry, Starheadboy, and Itscathywu. There will also be painting, drawing, button-making, and giveaways.
Monster chose to move from their longtime home on the corner of 20th and Ballard Ave when they couldn’t negotiate a favorable lease renewal. Their new home is at 1716 NW Market St.
At three times the size of their current location, the new spot will allow Monster to expand and offer more art classes to the public. They’ve been doing a monthly stitching class for the past year, but with a dedicated classroom in the new location, they’ll start hosting regular craft nights for customers to draw, knit, stitch, or make buttons.
You can RSVP or learn more on their Facebook event page.
