The jazz band at Ballard High School is one of just 12 bands from around the country that’s been accepted into the Next Generation Jazz Festival in California.
Every spring, the Monterey Jazz Festival invites students from around the U.S. to participate in the Next Generation Jazz Festival, happening April 3 – 5.
The three-day festival is also a competition — winning bands from each category will get invited back to the annual Monterey Jazz Festival in September.
