Ballard events update: what’s cancelled and postponed for COVID-19

Many events around the region are being cancelled to mitigate the spread of coronavirus, including several in Ballard.

Because there have been so many, we’re updating them here:

  • St. Pat’s Parade O’ Pints: The March 14 St. Pat’s celebration will still be happening at all 12 participating breweries, but the Hale’s Ales double-decker bus has been cancelled. The Seattle Firefighters Pipes & Drums have also cancelled their planned appearance.
  • Norwegian Heritage Day and Leif to Leif 5k Fun Run/Walk: The Leif Erikson Lodge has postponed the March 21 Norwegian Heritage Day event, but the Leif to Leif 5K will happen as scheduled. A new date for the Heritage Day has not yet been set, but we’ll update when we know the new date.
  • Starbucks 25th Annual Hot Java Cool Jazz: Ballard High School’s Jazz Band was scheduled to perform in the March 27th concert at the Paramount, which has been postponed. We’ll update when we know the new dates.
  • Ballard Wine Walk: Originally scheduled for March 28, the Wine Walk has been postponed for Saturday, October 24, 2020. All tickets purchased will be honored for the rescheduled event; if you can’t attend the October event, Ballard Alliance will provide a full refund. Email Kiana Ballo at kiana@ballardalliance.com to request refunds.
  • Ballard NW Senior Center $pring for $eniors Auction and Gala: The March 29th event has been postponed, with the new date TBD.

  1. I was at Fred Meyer earlier today. Things were looking sparse. No TP, handsoap, bleach or hand sanitizer. Cleaning products were really low.

But on the bright side…across the street at bevmo, Tito’s vodka was on sale! Just the essentials.

    1. go to safeway. all but hand sanitizer, make your own. Vodka and other booze cheaper at Total Wine and More in interbay. There your life was just improved.
