Two-alarm response to Wallingford construction site fire

Firefighters knocked down a construction site fire in Wallingford this morning, just across from Dick’s on N 45th St.

Just before 7am this morning, Seattle Fire responded to a fully involved fire that was burning on all sides of a building under construction near the corner of 1st Ave NE.

Firefighters contained the fire in about an hour, with a majority of units returning to service. A few crews will remain on site to monitor for flare-ups or hot spots. No injuries were reported in the blaze.

SDOT says eastbound traffic has reopened, but westbound traffic will remain closed white Seattle Fire monitors the site.

  1. hmm, so a fire just springs up at a construction site after two days of rain, huh?

    probably just some bad wiring, right? or vagrants…

  2. Some years back we had some arsons on new construction and other buildings being perpetrated by eco-terrorists, but that seems to have died down. As I recall, the FBI came down pretty hard on ELF and their ilk.
