Two suspects in custody in Ballard Fred Meyer hit-and-run homicide

Police have two suspects in custody that are connected to the Fred Meyer hit-and-run homicide in March.

Lori Tate was struck by a vehicle while in the parking lot of Fred Meyer on March 19. She was with her 12-year-old son at the time, and was taken to Harborview, where she passed away from her injuries one week later.

Police say that detectives arrested a 33-year-old woman on April 23 in connection with the homicide. A 50-year-old man was already in jail on an unrelated robbery, and police say he is now under investigation as the second suspect in the homicide case. He’s also under investigation for arson and auto theft.

        1. Professional help is required merely by disagreeing with your loony liberalism. Absolutely beautiful. So, you were fine with hardened criminals being let go? Are feelings in the constitution? Their post was spot on with the truth, a tough thing for many libtards

  1. Hello neighbors! I think we should try to be more careful when commenting our city officials and SPD without knowing the facts. I often don’t agree with their decisions, but in times like these it is very important to show a little faith in them because it reflect bad on our democratic system and only helps those who want do discredit it on social media. If SPD caught the suspects, I congratulate them on the job well done, and I believe if they’re proven guilty they will get the sentence they deserve.

    1. Wrong. City officials are not special and are open to any and all criticism. It’s called the 1st amendment. They have basically legalized heroin with their 2 gram or less personal use garbage. They brag about “the lowest incarceration rates in the USA” often too. Perhaps when it’s YOUR shit being stolen, broken into, or worse, you will begin the process of thinking. Stolen truck. Murder with it. Setting stolen truck on fire. No doubt a criminal record a long as your arm, and we must be careful???? Puuuullllleeeeezzzzzzeeee. “If you’re not part of the solution, you just may be part of the problem”.

    2. I’m all for SPD. Pete Holmes, most judges and Dan Satterburg choose not to convict career criminals and let them walk back onto the street. No wonder SPD is so demoralized. They catch the same guys again and again and again and Satterburg and Holmes choose not to prosecute again and again. Go SPD! F- you Pete Holmes and Dan Satterburg.
By the way, the threshold is 7 grams of heroin to prosecute which is enough to supply an addict for 2 days. So essentially, heroin is legal.

  2. This should be at least manslaughter charges against them ! And they should be in prison for a very long time and not released early because of the virus !
