Your Voice, Your Choice program suspended for 2020

The annual program for park and street improvements has been put on hold for the year due to COVID-19.

Your Voice, Your Choice is a participatory budgeting program in Seattle in which residents can suggest projects to improve parks and streets around the city. Earlier this year, the City put a call-out for ideas; all responses will be saved for when the program starts again. The City says the program has to be suspended due to “the challenges of uncertain economic conditions this year and next.”

The projects that were awarded in 2019—for Ballard, a new crosswalk at Shilshole/46th and 6th Ave NW greenway—and that were due to be carried out this year will also be delayed. The City says they may not be constructed until 2021 at the earliest due to pandemic-related reduced city crew capacity.
