Run Like a Viking goes virtual

This year’s Run Like a Viking will be held virtually.

Hosted by the National Nordic Museum, Run Like a Viking usually happens the same time as SeafoodFest, which was cancelled for 2020. The “race” this year will take place over five weeks during the museum’s Nordic Sol virtual summer celebration, and participants can do a 5k, 10k, or half marathon.

The “run” doesn’t have to be a run: you can get mileage by walking, biking, kayaking, or skateboarding—just log your miles starting July 25. “Bonus points if you do it while dressed like a Viking!” the Nordic says in their event info.

It costs $35 to sign up, and runners will get an event t-shirt, downloadable racing bib, and two general admission tickets to the museum for when it reopens.
