Unfounded report of a train fire sparks large firefighter response along Shilshole

1:57 pm: Seattle Fire says they responded to a possible fire on a BNSF train, but no fire was found. “It is likely the brakes had overheated causing initial concern,” Seattle Fire said. The response has been canceled.

1:50 pm: And they changed the dispatch location a third time to 6701 Seaview Ave. NW. Among the dispatched firefighters are hazardous materials units, which are likely just a precaution.

Earlier: A large fire response has headed to NW 65th St. and 36th Ave. NW for a report of a “train derailment.” Originally, the fire dispatch location was over on the Magnolia side near the Ballard Locks.
