Both lock chambers closed due to power outage at Ballard Locks

Both the locking chambers at the Ballard Locks are currently closed due to a large-scale power outage.

The outage began yesterday, and continues today as crews work to bring the locks back online.

The Ballard Locks posted a notice on social media today saying that both locks would remain closed until further notice. “We currently don’t know when the power will be restored but we’ll keep you posted when the locks have been re-opened,” they shared on Facebook.

No news as to the source of the outage, but we’ll update with any new information.
