Police arrest 13-year-old Whitman Middle School student for shooting threats

Seattle Police arrested a 13-year-old boy on Monday following threats he made on social media to shoot students at Whitman Middle School.

The SPD Blotter reports that police learned of the online threats on Sunday, Dec. 5. Police investigated and found the source of the threats.

Police arrested the student Monday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. at his home at booked him into King County Youth Services Center without incident for investigation of harassment.

Police say they believe there is no active threat at any school but invited anyone with questions about school safety to reach out to their school and learn about safety measures.
