A man was injured in a shooting in Ballard near the intersection of 14th Ave NW and NW Leary Way, just next to the Ballard Food Bank.
Police say that 911 calls came in just before 5 p.m. Monday evening. When officers arrived, they found a 53-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Seattle Fire medics transported him to Harborview in serious condition.
According to police, the victim and suspect appeared to know each other and had been in an altercation just before the shooting. Police searched the area after learning that the suspect escaped on foot, but haven’t found the suspect.
Police say they recovered video and ballistic evidence at the scene, but are asking that anyone with information about the shooting call the Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.
