Cookie’s Country Chicken to join forces with Taku for Ukraine fundraiser

Ballard’s newest fried chicken restaurant Cookie’s Country Chicken is joining up with Capitol Hill’s Taku to raise money for relief efforts in Ukraine.

The fundraiser is called “Buckets for Ukraine,” with proceeds going to World Central Kitchen‘s efforts in Ukraine, where they’re providing fresh meals to refugees and people still in Ukraine.

The pop-up will happen at Taku’s takeout window in Capitol Hill (706 E Pike St) on Sunday, May 1 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. They’ll be selling large buckets filled with Taku’s signature Japanese fried chicken, or karaage, and Cookie’s southern-style fried chicken. $20 from every bucket sold will be donated to World Central Kitchen.

They’re only selling 100 buckets on a first-come, first-served basis; no pre-orders will be available.
