El Borracho permanently closes Ballard location

After almost nine years in the neighborhood, El Borracho has permanently closed its Ballard location.

El Borracho opened at 5465 Leary Ave NW in February 2014. In the middle of 2021, owner Kittie Davidovich temporarily closed all three Puget Sound locations to transition their menu to be 100% plant-based.

Davidovich announced the news on El Borracho’s website.

“It has been the honor of a lifetime serving the Ballard community for almost 9 years,” she wrote. “How lucky we are to have had something that makes saying good-bye so hard. Thank you for all the love and support Ballard! We will forever cherish the memories.”

The Pike Place Market and Tacoma locations are still open, according to the website.

We reached out to Davidovich to learn more about the closure and will update you if we hear back.
