Great State Burger at 5411 Ballard Ave has closed permanently after two years in the neighborhood.
The Washington-based burger chain opened in Ballard in October 2020 and was the company’s sixth location. Local chef Renee Erickson of Walrus & Carpenter is a co-owner of Great State Burger—it falls under the Sea Creatures restaurant empire Erickson leads with another local restaurateur Chad Dale.
“It’s time to say goodbye to our lovely Ballard location. Thank you so much to the Ballard community, who supported us and enjoyed our delicious burgers, fries and breakfast sammies,” Great State shared on Instagram.
