Reuben’s Brews to expand outside of Ballard and open new Fremont taproom

After over a decade in Ballard, Reuben’s Brews is growing outside the borders of the neighborhood: They’re opening a brand new taproom up the hill in Fremont at 4401 Fremont Ave N.

The new taproom will go into the former Vif Wine|Coffee location, which closed in late 2021.

Reuben’s will begin work to update the space immediately and will announce their opening date in the coming weeks.

“We are beyond excited to introduce our new neighbors to the Reuben’s experience,” cofounder Adam Robbings said in a statement. “And we’re passionate about using Fremont Avenue as another place to build community and share our love of great beer—and great food!”

The announcement comes shortly after Reuben’s put its original brewery on NW 54rd St up for sale.

The Reuben’s Brews – Fremont Ave Taproom will have its usual rotation of craft beers, “unique community events,” and food from Reuben’s Eats. It will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with “cozy, cafe-style” indoor seating, an outdoor patio area, a to-go store, and parking on-site.

“Fremont was one of the first neighborhoods we lived in after moving to Seattle, and it still holds a special place in our hearts,” Grace Robbings, co-founder and head of the Reuben’s Brews Foundation said.

“Adam and I lived right down the street from this charming space for over 14 years, so when the chance came to expand Reuben’s Brews to this address, it felt like it was meant to be. And in the same way that we’ve forged connections with Ballard businesses and nonprofits, we look forward to building relationships with new community partners in Fremont.”

We’ll update you when we know more about the opening date.
