Portal VR closing permanently citing pandemic financial strain

Portal VR, the virtual reality arcade at 2601 NW Market St, has announced it will close its doors for good later this year.

In a message to customers, Portal VR said they will close their doors on Nov. 20. “Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to recover from the financial strain imposed by the COVID-19 Pandemic and cannot afford to continue,” the message reads.

Portal VR opened in 2017 “with a vision of making virtual reality more social, accessible, and entertaining,” their website reads.

They say that customers with any active gift cards should redeem them prior to closing as they will not be issuing refunds.

“Thank you for being the best customers we could wish for and happy VR’ing for the future,” they say.
