Seattle holiday boat parades coming soon—register to join the parades

There are two upcoming holiday boat parades happening soon, and there’s still time to register your boat if you want to join in on the fun.

8th Annual Parade of Boats and Christmas Ship Festival

The first—8th Annual Parade of Boats/Seattle Christmas Ship Festival—hosted by Argosy Cruises and happening this weekend, Friday, Dec. 8 at 8 p.m.

There will be an on-shore viewing party from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Evanston Plaza next to Phenopath Lab on the Fremont Cut (off of Evanston Ave North and North Northlake Way).  Warm 106.9 will be playing Christmas classics and Finn the Food Truck from Anthony’s will be there along with Chayen Coffee Trailer and Bell’s Cookie Co.

The parade route will traverse Lake Union, starting and ending at Lake Union Park (860 Terry Ave N).

Private vessels are encouraged to join in on the Christmas Ships parade; you can register for the Dec. 8 event online.

Seattle Christmas Boat Parade

The Seattle Christmas Boat Parade is happening Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. at starts in front of Fremont Tug Boats (1059 N Northlake Way) just east of the Aurora Bridge. The parade will move around Lake Union, finishing at Morrison’s Fuel Dock (2732 Westlake Ave N).

You can view the Seattle Christmas Boat Parade from anywhere around Lake Union, but the best viewing will likely be at Gas Works Park.

The event coincides with a toy drive for Seattle Children’s Hospital; if you want to drop off toys, you can do so at West Marine (1400 NW 45th St) in Ballard, which is also the registration pick-up location.
